Italy (Part 1): A Cocktail Of Risk Ahead


We recently visited Italy to assess the country’s conjunctural, structural and political developments in a crucial period of its recent history, with a constitutional referendum looming large (and considered to be another “make-it or break-it” moments for the EU, very much like Brexit), in the middle of the always-tense negotiations between Rome and Brussels on the budget for 2017 and future years, and just before the series of catastrophic earthquakes that have shaken the country, with hundreds of victims and enormous damages to Italy’s residential and commercial real estate, infrastructure, and historical monuments.
