Mert Yildiz is a senior economist covering MENA, CEE and Russia for MacroGeo. He has 13 years of experience in the financial services industry working as an Emerging Markets economist. Currently, he works as an independent consultant advising banks and asset managers on economics, politics and strategy. Most recently, he was a Senior Economist covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the independent research house Roubini Global Economics in London. Previously, Mert worked as a senior economist at various institutions including Renaissance Capital, ING Bank and Asiya Investments. Mert received his BS in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, an MA in Statistics from Columbia University and an MS in Applicable Mathematics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
